Repair terms.

Updated October 2, 2026. These apply to every repair with True Trust IT Support; you agree to them when you check a device in.

  1. Your device. You confirm you own the device or are allowed to have it repaired.
  2. Quotes. Asking costs nothing: tell me what's going on and I'll tell you what it will likely cost. Once I've looked, you get a firm price, and nothing gets worked on until you say yes. If it isn't worth fixing, I'll tell you so instead of selling you a repair you'd regret.
  3. Rates. House calls and bench work are billed by the hour ($125): one hour minimum, then half-hour steps. Evenings and Saturdays cost the same. Drop-offs and mail-ins start with a diagnosis ($30) that comes off the bill if you go ahead with the repair. Parts are quoted first, at my cost plus a markup you see on the quote.
  4. Your data. Back up anything important before you hand it over. I take care, and before risky work I save a backup of the drive myself, but repairs and recovery can lose data, and I'm not responsible for lost data or software.
  5. Copies of your files. I don't look at your files beyond what the repair needs. Before work that could put them at risk I save a backup of the drive on my own bench, offline and never uploaded, and delete it within 30 days after you pick up.
  6. Illegal material. If I see what appears to be child sexual abuse material, I stop work, don't copy it, and report it to law enforcement.
  7. Liability. My total liability for a job is limited to what you paid me for it.
  8. House calls. No trip fee on Amelia Island or in Yulee. Callahan, Hilliard and Jacksonville have a $30 trip fee (none for household plan members); farther than that, I quote the trip first.
  9. Mail-in. You pay to ship the device to me. Return shipping is included in the repair price. You pack and insure the trip to me; I insure the trip back at the declared value. Devices with a swollen battery can't be shipped.
  10. Unclaimed devices. Devices not picked up 30 days after I tell you they're ready are handled as Florida law allows, including my repair lien.
  11. Remote support. I only connect when you, or someone allowed to decide for that computer, agree. Home customers are asked every time and must click Allow; businesses can choose a notice instead of a prompt. You see when I'm connected and can end it at any time.
  12. Payment. Due at the end of a visit or at pickup (or before a mail-in ships back). Card (tap your card or phone at the visit, or a secure pay link by email), bank transfer from the same link, check, or cash. Same price any way you pay.
  13. Discounts. Veterans and first responders get 10% off labor. Send me a new household plan member and you get a $25 credit. Nobody gets anything for a review: I ask everyone for an honest one.

Warranty

Every repair carries a 30-day warranty on my labor. If the same problem comes back within 30 days, I fix it again at no charge. Not covered: new physical or liquid damage, new malware, or someone else's work on the device since. Parts carry the maker's warranty.

Questions about these terms: send me a note. How I handle your information is in the privacy policy.
