Remote help

On the phone with me? Type the code.

Remote help is part of the household plan. I read you a 6-digit code. Type it here, then download the small helper on the next page. It lets me see your screen while you watch, and it is gone when you close it.

Remote help isn't switched on right now.

Send me a message.

You're right to be careful about this

Real tech support never calls you out of the blue and asks to get on your computer. The FBI and the FTC both say the same thing: if someone calls claiming to be Microsoft or "your provider", hang up. Mine works the other way round. You call me first, at the number on this site. While we're on the phone I give you a code to type here. It works once, for 20 minutes. You see everything I do, the whole time. I will never ask for your bank login, your Social Security number, or a gift card. When we're finished you close the program and my access is gone.

  1. 1

Type the code I read you, then download the helper.

The next page has one big button for your computer. Open the file from your Downloads folder or the bar at the bottom of the browser.

  2. 2

If Windows shows a blue warning, click “More info”, then “Run anyway”.

Windows shows this for any program it has not seen many times yet. It looks like this:

On a Mac the helper installs instead, and the next page shows the two switches to turn on.

  3. 3

Click Allow when your computer asks.

A bar stays at the top of your screen while I am connected. Click Disconnect on it any time. Close the helper when we are finished and it is gone.

Already a customer with the helper installed?

Managed business computers and home care plans keep a permanent helper so I can fix things without a call. Every time I connect you see a notice or a prompt, depending on what your account agreed to, and there is an icon by the clock the whole time. Sessions are logged with who connected and when, and recorded; I keep recordings for 90 days.

To remove it, call me or uninstall “True Trust IT Support Remote Support” from Apps & Features.
